About Us....

First of all, I can excuse myself. I’m genetically poisoned with the virus called "dog lover".

I’m the third generation of a family of dog lovers. Since I was a little girl, I wanted to have an OES. My aunt talked about such a dog and showed me pictures. That's how I fell in love with these hairy fellows. My mom did not like those hairy dogs, and I grow up with friends like the Great Dane, a Collie and a Bouvier. When I celebrated my 19th birthday, I asked, just like any other year, an OES for a present. Only this time my boyfriend liked the idea, and gave me….MAX! Max was a little puppy of 6 weeks old, found in the newspaper. Without a pedigree, but sweet, so sweet as a sheepie can be. Max was a friend for life. To know him was to love him.

I became a groomer, and also a kennel help in the OES kennel "Shaggy Bear’s" Here I met Bonny (Surprise van 't Schokkerland). A pure "Shaggy Wonder" bred bitch. Bonny wasn’t happy in the kennel, and Marieke asked me to take care of here. So Bonny came home with me when she was 1,5 years old.  

Soon after Bonny entered my life, the plan for my first litter was born… But if I become to a breeder, I would need a kennel name. I thought about it and searched…Then I heard of the name "Youandi", it was a name in one of Shakespeare’s books. And what was more like my sheepies and me? You-and-I…. They were (still are!) my best friends! The first litter was born in November 1990. Balou (Youandi Fun Stud) was the one who stayed with me. He became a really beautiful male. 67 cm, 50 kilo’s. Sweet, Stable, Pleasant, Pacifist; That was my Balou. The best friend a man can wish for. Balou was my first showdog. We weren’t very successful. We had so much to learn. He was a typical male who needed a lot of time. We were very good in obedience, tough. He was the first OES who qualified for the Dutch championship GG I.

When Bonny suddenly died, Emily's breeder asked me if Emily could stay here for a while. I agreed; Emily came over, and within 2 days I decided Emily would stay here for life. Emily was not a showgirl, but she gave me 2 litters of beautiful puppies. I kept one daughter here: Raggles (Youandi Femme Fatal) and Gini (Youandi Genius) went to friends to live with them. 

After a lot of sad episodes -the way too early goodbye of Bonny and Balou- I have managed to save their bloodline and spirit. 3 months after Balou passed away, his sister Lotte had to leave her home immediately. (...) She was Bonny’s last daughter who still had a uterus. With a lot of luck I’ve managed to breed one litter with Lotte. She gave me 4 puppies. A little bitch called Coco stayed with us. She looks exactly like her mommy and uncle Balou! Also Bo-Ghy (the son of Gini) looks a lot like his grand-dad Balou! I’m very proud of them all.

 Nowadays I have great- grand- children of Emily, Bonny and Balou around me. Babs (Youandi Back 'n Beyond) and Shanti (Youandi Moët & Chandon) show me daily the special characters of all their (great-grand-) parents. It is so nice to see how the youngest generation inherited the beautiful characters and funny habits from the "oldies". This way, the legacy of Bonny, Lotte and Balou will always be alive...  

I live together with 7 Bobtails now. Or should I say, 2 Bobtails and 5 Old English Sheepdogs? Muffin, Babs, Shanti, Vincent and Chanel are undocked because of the docking ban law in Europe. I like the tails a lot, but I had to get used to it. I love my 9 dogs...I love them all, and I couldn’t miss a single one of them!

Breeding is a hobby which got out of hand…But it will always be a hobby!!
